A soul sound that really gets you moving: Jamila Al-Yousef, daughter of a Palestinian refugee, started to write her own songs early. With neo-soul and rock influences, and an equal measure of Arabic folk. After studying music in London and Hildesheim, Jamila is back in Berlin, where she found her wonderful band, The Other Heroes: Leon Hast (guitar), Bilal Hammour (bass), Salam Alhassan (Percussion) and Kuba Gudz (drums).
