WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH BRAUNSCHWEIG?

Colonial continuities in Germany

Starting from the assumption that colonialism is not a closed chapter of history, but rather was fundamental to the development of modernity and that its after-effects are still clearly tangible, Joshua Kwesi Aikins and Simone Dede Ayivi discuss colonial continuities in Braunschweig and beyond.

With Joshua Kwesi Aikins, researcher at the University of Bielefeld (research focus: colonialism and remembrance politics in Germany, representation of the African diaspora in Germany, critical research on whiteness.)
