This is an unusual night out at the theatre where the audience take their seats alongside the actors of Halifax based 2b theatre company around a big table. Two performers lead the audience with laconic dialogues and small scenes into the events taking place in a small American town. As 2b theatre productions never deal with anything less than life itself, the actors develop a huge universe from these many small stories and happenings, in which the wishes and desires of each individual small town dweller, dead or alive, find their place. Their subtle and confusing performance on the phenomenon of time and our awareness of it describes the emotions, stories and lies of life throughout an entire century.
The intimacy of the performers and the immediacy of their story turn this performance into a moment of communal celebration. This young Canadian company is one of the most exciting discoveries of contemporary theatre and will be presented in Europe for the first time.
There will be an audience talk after the performance on 16 June. Admission free.
