Eleven days of a summer festival filled with international theater and dance: nine productions on the stages of the state theater enchant our perception and attempt a balancing act between biographical storytelling and fiction. Not only the stage floor, but also social norms begin to tilt. In polyphonic monologues, new concepts of family emerge, and glamorous pop icons bring landscapes to life. With NO PRISON, we are opening the gates of JVA Rennelberg to the public for the first time. A prison that is no longer one, yet not something else either, becomes a space of possibilities, where international artists present perspectives on injustice and state violence. We invite you to come together at this place of isolation and exclusion and precisely here, to experience community and art.
