A picture of Rennelberg Prison. A red-brick building with barred windows, a courtyard with fences and barbed wire, beneath a grey sky.
Visitors are sitting and lying on deckchairs and beanbags on a lawn in the festival centre at Rennelberg Prison. In the background are brick buildings and barbed wire.
Several visitors are sitting on colourful beanbags and chatting on a lawn in front of a building. Other people are standing in front of the entrance, striking up conversations in small groups.

Festival Centre JVA Rennelberg

The festival centre will open this year at JVA Rennelberg one hour before each performance. In the courtyard and the covered Werkhalle, a space will emerge for encounters, conversations and drinks — and for taking in the unique atmosphere of this place.

On Fridays and Saturdays, the silent discos transform the courtyard into a dancing counterpoint to the prison’s architecture. For deaf visitors, we provide bass belts that make the music physically perceptible through vibration.
