Concert Eskina Qom & Ema Cuañeri

Eskina Qom is a musical project of the young Qom brothers Brian and Nahuel López who have been part of Buenos Aires hip-hop scene since 2016. Through their music, Eskina Qom makes the experiences of the Indigenous inhabitants of the Daviaxaiqui neighborhood in the Derqui district of Greater Buenos Aires visible, taking a clear position as members of this collective history. Experimenting with the drill style in the last years, their provocative lyrics are a strong vehicle for political expression to challenge stereotypes about Indigenous people  by incorporating the struggles, thoughts and desires of Qom marginalized youth into their songs.

Ema Cuañeri is a Qom indigenous singer, teacher, actress and researcher born in Quitilipi, Great Chaco. After the discographies Cuatro mujeres: Cantos de la tierra (2005) and Caminos a Q'aec (2019), to which she contributed musically, in 2023 she released her first solo album Qa'añe. Mujer Joven. In it, Ema sets the songs of her ancestors which appeared to her in dreams through the spirits of the PioGonaq, the Qom shamans. Her songs convey the knowledge and cultural wealth of her people, which she passes on to younger generations in resistance against oblivion.
