Festival Opening

We will be opening this year’s Theaterformen Festival in two places: the evening will begin at 6:00 pm in a place that for many years stood for isolation and confinement. In Rennelberg Prison, we invite you to celebrate the start of an exciting festival summer and the last edition under the current artistic director, Anna Mülter.
Public Movement will present an excerpt from their performance Emergency Routine, in which the performers and the audience create temporary formations together that turn authority and solidarity into physical actions. The evening will then proceed with the opening speeches in the cell block of House 3, followed by a drink at the Festival Centre. We will then move on to the Main Stage of the Staatstheater, where the performers from Diana Niepce’s Hornfuckers will push the limits of gravity with their manoeuvres and upset the balance of norms and hierarchies. The evening will then come to a close on the forecourt in front of the theatre.
